CHECK-IN

Check-in counters are open 3 hours ahead of your flight Departure. Make sure that You have all travel documents. Check flight information displays to locate the check-in counters for your flight.

ONLINE CHECK-IN

If you have done online check-in, just head to our online check-in counter for bag drop.

SPECIAL ASSISTANT

If you need special assistant while at airport and check-in, our staff will attend you to help you.

Note: If you have retained item from Customs on arrival, please make sure it is collected from Customs Retained good counter at check-in area before proceeding to check-in counter.
All departing passengers are advised to check the passport validity of minimum 6 moths from the date you flying to your destination. Our check-in agents will check for your Visa requirement depending on the country you travel. For visa requirement details, please contact your airline.
Please be advised that there are certain types of items that are not allowed to be carried by Air Transport. For more details of the items, please contact your airline. If you happen to carry such item, please declare them at check-in.
If your luggage is improperly packed, have damages, your luggage may be checked-in as Limited Release luggage. Depending on the condition mentioned of your luggage’s checked-in tag, the liability for your airline maybe limited.
If you are accompanying over-sized luggage, like surfboards, large boxes or if your luggage requires special caring during the handling, just proceed to check-in counter. Any oversized baggage check-in process will be assisted and guided to you by the check-in agent at the check-in counter

Hand Bag & Excess Baggage

Hand Baggage Acceptance
Depending on the airline you travel, your hand luggage (Cabin bag) may be subjected to acceptance if your luggage weight is more that the weight allowed on Airlines’ guideline or if it is too big in size. Please make sure you are fully aware of your Airline’s hand luggage acceptance guideline before you proceed to airport in order to avoid any inconvenience and trouble.
Excess Baggage
Based on your airfare, your free Baggage Allowance may be limited. Just make sure to pack your luggage with the free baggage weight. We have weighing scales for you to check the weight just outside departure terminal and inside the check-in area. If you wish to travel with excess baggage, we have dedicated excess baggage counters where you can conveniently make excess baggage payments. Ask our ground staff for assistance.

Security Screeing

Before your entrance into Departure terminal, you will be required to do the Security Screening of your luggage. Make sure you produce your travel documents at Departure Entrance gate in order to access into Departure Terminal.
Once you complete with the check-in, you may proceed to upstairs for passport Check and Central Security Screening. After your passport check, you will be required to do one last Security screening of your hand bags and other items carried on person.
Any Security restricted items including liquids that exceed 100ml in size and quantity are not allowed to carrying. Such items will be confiscated and discarded by Airport Security.

Emigration Check

Automated Passport check

Automated Passport Check is only available for local passengers who own Electronic Passport. Passport holders can go through self-serviced automated passport check system which helps locals to clear through passport check process easily.

 

Duration of your Stay

Make sure you have obtained appropriate approvals from Maldives Immigration if you have stayed in Maldives for more days than the days granted to you upon your arrival. Over-staying in Maldives could result a deportation. Find more details from Maldives Immigration: http://www.immigration.gov.mv

Boarding Services

Boarding Gates
After the Emigration check and Security Screening, refer the Flight Information Displays for boarding status of your flight. Announcements will be made when flight is ready for boarding. Departure hall, combined of Gates 1,2,3 are located at downstairs. Gates 4,5 are located on 1st floor (the same floor as Emigration and duty free)
Priority Boarding
If you are a priority customer, First Class, Business Class, you may board the flight on your own convenience. If you are in the lounge, our lounge staff will keep you updated of the boarding of your flight.
If you are travelling through our VIP/CIP lounge, boarding will be at CIP lounge and you will be guided to the flight
Families with Children
We are doing everything we can to make you a hassle-free check-in and boarding of your flight while travelling with your children. During boarding, we give priority to board the families first.

  • Muslim Prayer Room

You can enjoy our free wifi service up to 25 Minutes after check-in of your flight. To use the wifi Service, just select the wifi network “Airport wifi” from the list of available Wi-Fi networks and you will be prompted to provide your mobile number (With country Code).

Once you enter the mobile number you can Request for Wi-Fi code which will be sent to your phone as an SMS. Please note that you will require either local SIM card or SIM card with roaming in order to get Wi-Fi code as an SMS. In addition to this, we have Free-of-Charge Internet Kiosks at Duty Free area and Gates 1, 2 and 3.

Currency Exchange counter is also located at Duty Free area operated by Bank Of Maldives. There are other areas that you will find money exchange counters as well.

A Prayer Room is available on the first floor of the Departure Terminal. Two fully air-conditioned Mosques are located about 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the Terminal Building to either side.
