On January 7, 2022, Velana International Airport began using the phase 1 VIP/CIP terminal. The terminals can hold up to 95 passengers at once.

In addition to the convenience of check-in, the terminals provide catering services, separate prayer facilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, shower facilities, smoking rooms, private lounges, and a variety of other entertainment options.

The ground floor is dedicated to VVIP services in the first phase, while the first and second floors are dedicated to VIP and CIP services. The area of Phase 1 is approximately 3,200 square meters. When completed, the project will provide 6,800 square meters of space. This is expected to be completed by August 2023.
